GET IN TO GIVE BACK!
GET IN...TO COMMUNITY
WHAT IS TECH GIVES BACK?
For one day in October, over 1,500 of Boston tech scene’s best and brightest get out of the office and into the community to give back to local nonprofits. Teams both small and large as well as individuals donate their time across over 50 volunteer sites, giving over 9,000 hours of volunteer service in one day.
Following our day of service, TUGGers celebrate the community at an epic afterparty at the Innovation and Design Building @ Dry Dock in the Seaport. The party includes great food, drink, music and an opportunity to connect with a variety of organizations from TUGG's nonprofit portfolio.
HOW THE DAY FLOWS
Day of Service (9am-3pm, hours dependent on project): Participants register for volunteer placements at nonprofit project sites throughout the Boston area.
Party (3pm-6:30pm): Everyone comes together for a community "block party" to celebrate the best day of the year! This year Jamestown has generously donated the promenade in front of the Innovation and Design Building @ Dry Dock for our after party. (Thank you Jamestown!) Note: the after party is 21+ and is free for volunteers.
WHERE YOU CAN GIVE BACK
We curate dozens of impactful projects serving nonprofits throughout the Boston area, ranging from manual labor, to remodeling and organizational help, to skill based projects.
Below is a sampling of the type of volunteer roles available:
- Give mock job interviews and other help for veterans seeking employment
- Paint and assemble furniture for homeless people's living spaces
- Organize after-school program spaces
- Remodeling projects for a local YMCA
- Do painting and landscaping for emergency shelters
- Work at an urban farm that donates its produce to Boston's homeless population
You can sign your company up as a team or participate as an individual volunteer.

GET in...to Sponsorship
Thinking about what you get with sponsorship? At TUGG, we take a fresh perspective on event sponsorship.
We think it's not about what you get, it's about what you give.
Leadership in the tech community isn't defined by platinum, gold, silver, or bronze levels. It is defined by having the passion to stand up for innovation and for entrepreneurship both for-profit and non-profit alike.
All TUGG sponsors donate what they can, whether it's $1,000 or $15,000, based on the stage and growth of their company. All event sponsorship funds go towards TUGG grants to our portfolio of nonprofits.
It's no secret that cash is tight in the start-up community, but TUGG sponsors have their priorities straight. They believe in giving back to their community, the same community that allows them to prosper and that makes Boston a great place to work and live.
All sponsors receive:
- Marketing exposure in all event materials and via social media...are you stepping up to be a leader in our community? We want to shout your name from the rooftops!
- Preference for the nonprofit project site of your choice for volunteer groups of 50+, based on project availability
