#TUGG10: A Look at 2008 with Runkeeper

WE'RE CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF TUGG AND THE TECH COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER!

Inherently Centered Around Social Good

After two successful Wine Parties, Jeff and Hemant saw that it was time to take this event to the next level. They met BUILD earlier that year and knew that a program focused on early entrepreneurship for under-resourced youth would engage Boston’s tech community in new ways… and it did! The 2008 Wine Party led to the start of BUILD in Boston.

That same year Runkeeper was founded in Boston and launched their first app in the Apple App store. The company has been a supporter of social good in Boston from the start!

"Runkeeper's mission is one that inherently centers around the social good, in that we're trying to get everyone around the world exposed to the benefits of running. This mission drives everything we do, from hiring to goal setting to day-to-day operations. Building a company culture that cares about charitable giving is in many ways a natural extension of tying everything back to our mission to get the whole world running, particularly because running and charitable giving are often so intrinsically linked."  - Jason Jacobs, Co-Founder & CEO, Runkeeper

Big congrats to Runkeeper on their acquisition!
