Sports + STEM at Foxboro

Eureka! On Saturday January 18th, 2014 Science from Scientists, a nonprofit within the our portfolio, partnered with Raytheon and The Hall to present a memorable science theater show.

Held at Patriots Place, the kids devised and demonstrated their very own experiments using movements from sports combined with the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). For example, students analyzed the trajectory of throwing a football and identified key factors imperative toward improving the speed of olympic bobsledders, among other adventures.

Watch the video below to see the kids performing these ingenious experiments:

At the end of the 18 week challenge, these students will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to show what they’ve learned in front of live judges, including one of New England's best judges of talent and potential: Bob Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots.

Science from Scientists inspires and motivates youth to embrace STEM fields through exciting, informative and engaging training by practicing scientists. (Great to see that they are open to throwing the occasional football and bobsledding too!)
